Anyone who attended the Polar Brrr at Montague lose their St Christopher medal? If you did, please contact Joy at the clinic.
We at Galiano Health Care Society deeply appreciate the continued support which has been expressed by the Galiano community since our announcement that GHCS will not be hosting the Polar Brr event at Montague on Jan 1, 2025. We do urge anyone using the Park on this or any other day to respect the Indigenous land and BC parks fire rules.
The GHCS Polar Brrr Swim is an important community event and fundraiser. It has provided the community with a sense of connection and tradition for many years. Unfortunately this year’s Polar Brrr will not be supported by BC Parks and they have denied us authorization to hold a community event at Montague Park. An organized event will not be offered by GHCS. We encourage swimmers to continue to collect their pledges and to swim in their preferred location. We would be thrilled if you shared your pics with us! 🏊♀️#polarbrrr2025Your collected pledges can then be dropped off to the Health centre during office hours. We are profoundly disappointed to not be hosting this years Polar Brrr as there is a history of 15 years for GHCS holding this event. GHCS wishes you a safe and healthy new year! #polarbrrr2025
