Keeping Galiano Healthy
Our Health Care Centre depends on regular community funding; which is why membership is the best way to ensure we continue to serve our families and neighbours.
Whether you use the Health Care Centre for your primary physician, nurse practitioner, dental or hygiene needs, laboratory facilities, to see a physiotherapist or chiropractor, visit the Public Health Nurse with your infant or child, or arrive here as the result of an emergency call, your membership funds and donations make these services possible.
How Your Membership Helps
Your generosity enables us to:
- Purchase life saving equipment and up-to-date medical equipment for use in our treatment room.
- Maintain a free medical equipment loan service
- Liaise with VIHA to provide a core health care system including a Doctor, Nurse Practitioner and emergency coverage through the First Call Nurse program
- Provide and maintain a helicopter pad for use by the local ambulance and air ambulance
- Maintain and improving the Health Care Centre facility
- Provide staff to ensure the facility is run in an organized, consistent and responsible manner
- Provide health and wellness educational programs and workshops
- Provide a Seniors Social program to support the most vulnerable among us
- Provide a Palliative Care program
Easy Online Enrollment
We use a charitable giving site called “zeffy” to facilitate online giving to the Galiano Health Care Centre.
If you would like to use another payment method; please contact us for other arrangements.
You will receive an official Tax Receipt for all of your donations, as we are a Registered Charity and Non-Profit.
The Galiano Health Care Society is supported 100% by fundraising efforts and a community-supported yearly tax levy. We do not receive any government financial support to run the medical clinic, or to run our volunteer service programs.
Without community support in the form of Donations, Memberships and Bequests, we would not have a health care centre on Galiano Island.
