Free Rides to Off-Island Appointments
Getting to an off-island appointment can be the hardest part of getting care. Island Health now offers Galiano residents a free taxi service for non-emergency appointments at Island Health facilities and affiliate sites.
And it’s easy. Just one phone call (or email) and a ride meets you at the Swartz Bay terminal when your ferry arrives, waits for you after your appointment, and takes you back to the ferry. If you need someone to go with you, they ride for free too. There are no forms to fill out. Just call no less than 2–3 days ahead.
