Thank you to everyone who attended the Annual General Meeting of the Galiano Health Care Society on Sunday April 26, 2015. The reports from the AGM are linked below for your review.

Following the business meeting we heard presentations from Colette Legace (Home and Community Care RN) and Diana Lilly (First Call Nurse) – both are retiring after many years of service to Galiano residents and visitors. We also note that Kathy Chapman (First Call RN) is no longer working with us (both First Call positions were eliminated by Island Health in the Fall 2014). Jo Rippin (Nurse Practitioner) also announced that she is leaving Galiano at the end of May for a position in Victoria.
A heartfelt thank you to all nurses mentioned above for their commitment to caring for Galiano-ites over the years. We are all the better (and healthier) for your work.

AGM – Special Resolutions

The Galiano Health Care Society has its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday April 26th at the South Hall from 1-4pm. At the business meeting we will be presenting a Special Resolution to amend 5 areas of our Society Bylaws. We encourage members to review the proposed amendments prior to the meeting, and to bring questions and comments to share at the AGM. Remember, you have to be a Society member to vote on the proposed changes. You can renew memberships anytime Mon-Fri by contacting Linda at the health clinic at 250 539 3753. Also, we will be selling memberships at the South Hall prior to the AGM on Saturday April 26th from 12pm -1pm.

Recognition and Thanks
The last year has been a challenging one on a number of levels, but we have been fortunate through these difficult times to have a hard working and dedicated board. I hence owe a debt of gratitude to the executive of the board, Vice President Frances Tessier, Secretary Jacques Roy and Treasurer Sylvie Beauregard, as well as the members-at-large, Renne Atkinson, Don Clark, Ken Kucille, Diane Laronde, Roger Pettit, Susan Phillips, Christina Stechishin, and Pat Woolhouse for the outstanding work they have done this year for the GHCS.
