Galiano Island Health Care Centre in collaboration with local businesses and residents has now installed a number of Automatic External Defibrillators (AED’s) in prominent places up and down the island. Designed for public to use if someone collapses, the AED’s will monitor the person’s heart beat and apply a small electric shock if the machine decides that it could help resuscitate the collapsed person.

A series of public information and familiarization sessions are now underway.

On Sunday March 15 a Public Access Defibrillator orientation will be held at the North Community Hall from 1-3pm (**note change of date) –

Please RSVP for this event to Eileen at 250 539 5677 or eileen.eeb@gmail.com
